New Level 3 guidelines come into play this week with restrictions pertaining to retail, hospitality and travel all set to ease as the month continues.
However, with restaurants, cafes and pubs that serve food due to reopen their doors to the public by the end of the week, hospitality workers at one Sligo restaurant have said that they are 'dreading' the Christmas period this year.

The Journal on Sunday evening, the article in question details how Dublin's South William Street was temporarily closed off after large crowds gathered there over the weekend.
Confirming that Gardaí had "restricted access to South William Street for a short period of time" on Saturday evening, a spokesperson told The Journal that "all persons present dispersed without incident and no arrests were made".
Unimpressed by what they saw, Yeats County Inn is just one Irish venue to have commented on the situation with staff saying that such sights make them 'dread' what is yet to come this festive period.
"We serve food, and dread the Christmas period now. How can people who are supposed to be intelligent not see that this scene is going to be repeated all across the country if they limit the 'pub capacity' of the nation. They need to open all pubs and each will find it's own level."

Calling on government to allow all pubs to reopen, publicans have said that the video highlights that 'wet pubs' are not the issue.
