What a way to start a new life together.

Co. Clare newlyweds Michelle O’Leary and Ruaidhri Mohally tied the knot recently and went the extra mile to get an official photo taken. Well, make that 0.6 miles... vertically.

The pair hiked for three hours to near the top of Carauntoohill in Co. Kerry, AKA Ireland's highest mountain.

They were snapped by Limerick-based Awake and Dreaming Photography. The whole trip took about seven hours and took place when the couple returned from their honeymoon.

What a stunning shot. We reckon it was well worth the trip.

As they say with marriage though, it's all downhill from the wedding day.
