Ireland’s Getting Its First Ever Gin Village And We’ve Found A New Home

We're going to make a very bold statement here.

You might disagree and if you do, that's okay, but you're wrong.

Galway is the gin capital of Ireland - scrap that - the world in our opinion. It's got the largest Gin Parlour in Ireland for crying out loud.

So, it's only fitting that a gin capital gets its own Gin Village.

World Gin Day is on Saturday 9th of June and to mark the occasion there is a dedicated Gin Village appearing in The Latin Quarter Galway, as part of its Gin Fest celebrations.

Promising an afternoon of Gintastic fun, the event takes place from 1pm–4pm upstairs in The Quays Bar, on Quay Street.

A host of Irish & International gin and tonic brands will be exhibiting on the day, with those who enjoy a G&T invited to meet with the makers, sample some new gin brands along with old favourites. There will also be food stands, with gin infused sweets treats, and a live DJ spinning the decks.

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Bombay Sapphire, Bloom, London Dry Gin, Silver Spear Gin, Blacks, Bonac 24, Hendricks, Tanqueray 10, Gordon’s Pink Gin, Beefeater 24, Schweppes & 1783 Tonic, Shortcross Gin, London Essence, Micil Gin, Conncullin Gin, Fever Tree Tonic and Dingle Gin are all amongst the brands taking part in the Gin Village with more to be announced.

Basically you’ll be a ‘gin genius’ at the end of the festival.
