Galway is overflowing with restaurants to choose from - many of which have pizza on the menu.
Serving pizza is one thing, serving
good pizza is quite another.
Studying (I use that term lightly...very lightly) in Italy for five months taught me how to differentiate between the two, and luckily finding authentic pizza outside of
Il Bel Paese is much easier than you'd expect.
Here are my picks of the top pizza slices in Galway.
Dough Bros
You can't go to Galway and not go to
Dough Bros. That's a fact - ask anyone and they'll tell you the same. Their pizza is seriously good...as is their garlic fire bread.

Pizza Napoli
Going to
Pizza Napoli is a post-night out tradition. It's usually the highlight for me if I'm honest.
Not only is it centrally located in the heart of the action, but it's also cheap as chips - a slice of Margherita will cost you less than €4 (€3.50 to be exact). I'd recommend the spinach and goats cheese if you're feeling adventurous though.

Da Roberta's Ristorante & Pizzeria
Out in Salthill, combine a stop
HERE with a walk along the prom and you're winning. It tastes better if you work for it. I'd even go so far as to class Da Roberta's as one of Galway's best Italian restaurants (don't let their sporadic social media presence fool you otherwise).

Freddy's
Freddy's on Quay Street is one of Galway's most beloved restaurants. The dimly lit interior gives off very cosy Roman restaurant type vibes. And their pizzas are always a popular choice.

Trattoria Magnetti
These guys describe themselves as "not pizzist" - so basically they'll indulge all topping requests, including pineapple. Controversial?
