Eight delicious treats around the country we want to try this weekend

26th March 2021

02:52pm GMT

Lynda Keogh
We've been eating ALL the good things over the last... well.. year, let's be honest.  Eating all the things over the last twelve months means that we've honed our taste buds (and eyeballs) to spot the best of the best. So on this note, here are eight things from around the country that caught our eye this week, and we just NEEEEEED to try. I mean we can't try them all, so that's where you come in - please try these tasty treats if they're within your 5km and report back, make us jealous! Carlow - The Wild Flower Cafe Easter themed edible cookie dough. Yes, you read that right - edible cookie dough adorned with creme eggs or mini eggs if you fancy. This is my idea of absolute heaven, you can buy a scoop or go all in and buy a tub. I'd be a tub kinda gal! https://www.instagram.com/p/CMxlONllveA/ Cork - Yumm Cafe Kanturk Okay, so this is like a 99 cone of our actual dreams. An Easter twist on a classic chimney cake; a crispy, flakey dough cone with a Rolo and caramel chocolate egg filling topped with whipped cream and ice cream. This looks absolutely insane and a solid yes from us. https://www.instagram.com/p/CMzfaoNrqjU/ Cork - Good Day Deli  Pancakes are not just for Tuesdays. In fact if we could eat pancakes everyday, we would. Why not get fancy this weekend and grab these cardamom poached pear pancakes from Good Day Deli. We hear the you're guaranteed to have a good day if you start with these bad boys. https://www.instagram.com/p/CM2aDnSpmVk/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Galway - Tartare  We don't want to put a dampener on the weekend, but it is set to be pretty miserable. But, this sticky pudding with a whiskey caramel sauce will definitely warm the cockles! https://www.instagram.com/p/CM4WnhXHRgL/ Kerry - Bacus Bakery  A slice of fresh lemon and raspberry cake teamed with a gorgeous cup of coffee - there is absolutely no better way to start the weekend. This one is also suitable for anyone following a vegan or plant based diet. https://www.instagram.com/p/CM1sBA_l28j/ Kerry - Cafe Du Parc If you've every been to Killarney, Cafe du Parc is the place to get a delicious and boujie weekend brunch. It speaks to our notions and we're here for it. We are also here for this Creme Egg Milkshake. If this doesn't bring all the boys to your yard (sorry not sorry), we don't know what will! https://www.instagram.com/p/CMo_cpVForY/ Sligo - Flipside Rain, hail or shine - ice cream is always a good idea. Especially when it's a white chocolate ice cream cookie burger. Holy. God. This is exactly the pick me up you need after a long week. https://www.instagram.com/p/CMxgLtNB0bj/ Sligo - Sweet Beats  To be perfectly honest, we really need both of these - it's a crime to have to choose! Sweet Beats are serving up these extremely pretty lemon glazed and filled sour doughnuts and vegan-friendly almond croissants to boot! Yes, yes, yes. https://www.instagram.com/p/CM4MwfuBs5c/ Tell us where you're gonna treat yourself this weekend!
