Foodies REJOICE! Galway is a serious spot for munch.
I adore everything about Galway - the tiny cobblestone streets, the endless buskers, the true Irish culture and of course, the food and drink.
Lately, the food scene has been booming with some new unique editions to excite the tastebuds.
Here are my ten favourite spots right now:
1. Aniar
Aniar focuses on wild, locally foraged ingredients and interesting flavours.
It's a contemporary, Michelin-starred restaurant that everyone should visit once in their lives. The high-end dining eatery is located in a bright, homey interior with a creative farm-to-plate Irish menu and many wines.
They describe themselves as terroir, which means:
"The way in which our food comes from the specific place that is Galway and the west of Ireland. We hope to reveal the distinct and various food stuffs that make up our particular landscape, through our farms, the wildlands and the shores that surround us. The natural course of the seasons will dictate our ever-changing and evolving menu."
Aniar would be ideal for a special occasion with the tasting menus coming in at €110, or €160 with wine pairings.

2. Dough Bros
Dough Bros is up there as one of the best pizza places I've visited in the country.
It has that new contemporary style to it with pizzas being cooked within a matter of minutes and being topped with intriguing ingredients such as nduja and honey.
It's a quirky spot, suitable for casual dining and it always goes down a treat.

3. Ard Bia At Nimmos
Up there as one of the most popular restaurants, Ard Bia at Nimmos is a force to be reckoned with.
The menu here is ‘world-inspired’ taking inspiration from New Zealand and the Mediterranean.
They said:
"We believe in having roots in a place whilst having an identity that transcends location and takes inspiration from around the world."

4. Biteclub
Biteclud is for the cool kids.
Marked with an iconic neon sign, this venue has an eclectic mix of cuisines and cocktails. It has a market-style vibe and a very laid back atmosphere including some deadly decor. Picture: black walls, pink scalloped booths and funky colourful floors.
"Born in the bosom of Electric Garden & Theatre, our menu has evolved from a fusion between food and clubbing culture - Think Bohemian street party meets lazy evenings with a line-up of the very best local and international DJs. The initial menu was built around the dining and dancing experience and this has evolved into our ethos of Eat, Drink, Dance all under one roof."

5. Kai
Kai is an award-winning, sustainable restaurant that specialises in European flavours.
Nestled between a church and gay bar, Kai is dreamy spot. The rustic interiors give it a homely and relaxing feel and the large glass roof fills the room with light. Kai’ is the Maori word for food and their food is always top quality.
The menu is organic, wild, sourced locally and cooked intelligently.

6. Cupán Tae
Sure there's nothing like a cuppa tae!
Cupán Tae is a real life dolls house. Inside expect floral walls, doilies, quirky crockery, dolls, teacups hanging from the walls and of course, more variations of tea than you could possibly imagine.
Try their chocolate tea - it's unreal. Top that off with a side of sweet cake and you can see why it has a special place in my heart.

7. Loam
Loam has also been awarded a Michelin Star for its ever-evolving menu.
It's an incredible dining experience. The chef will serve you and explain to you the concept of your dish and where it came from which just adds so much to an already incredible meal.
All food is locally sourced and carefully selected.

8. Dela
Dela is hands down one of the best places in Galway for brunch.
They grow most of their own produce and at peak growing season their greens and eggs have a ‘plot to plate’ time of minutes.
The menus are inspired by the Scandanavian style of eating with an Irish twist.

McDonaghs is a must when in Galway, they serve up the best fish and chips around.

West Restaurant is one of Galway's top restaurants in the romantic coastal village of Barna. Experience fine dining and decadent food options.
