Musical theatre fans of the cult classic Les Misérables will be happy to hear that it is coming back to Irish shores next year.
The acclaimed production is set to perform in the Bord Gáis from August 25 to September 12 2020.
An adaptation of an 1862 Victor Hugo novel, the epic musical tells the story of Jean Valjean, a prisoner who breaks his parole, and Javert, the police inspector who dedicates his life to hunting him down. Of course, with lots of twists and romance thrown into the mix as well.
The brilliant new staging includes fresh scenery inspired by Hugo’s paintings and has already been seen in the likes of South America, Singapore, Dubai and Broadway. Starring Irish tenor Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean, we have to support our own.
Tickets to last year’s production were hot commodities and sold out well in advance. Some tickets popped up on third party sales sites closer to the show (try saying that quickly) but were going for extortionate prices… €21,598 for three gold circle tickets!
Having sold out every venue on its UK and Ireland tour since opening in 2018, it’s unlikely that this year will be any different. So don’t wait until the last minute to get yours.
