This is a bit too close for comfort.

With just under 72 hours until Conor McGregor faces off against Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas, people all over Ireland are already planning how their going to watch the fight in the early hours of Sunday morning.

However, the people of Carlow almost had to contend with missing out altogether due to a power outage until the ESB had a sudden change of heart.

The electricity provider had arranged to undergo maintenance works in Carlow on from 2am to 5am on Sunday morning until an intervention saw them bring the project forward by a day in order to accommodate fight fans.
