Believe it or not, Amsterdam has no shortage of amazing steakhouses and eateries serving up all types of eye-watering cuts of meat. This famous restaurant can be found in the middle of Amsterdam's Centraal train station. 1e Klas is somewhat a magical place - you'll get an overwhelming feeling that you've been transported back in time to another century with their high ceilings, potted plants and mahogany everywhere. Not to mention their resident parrot, Elvis who is a local celebrity and takes part in many selfies daily. Now, onto the steak - they serve up stunning grilled tenderloin steak here for less than €20 which is super value.
Piet de Leeuw is one of Amsterdam's first cafes but has become well known for having one of the best kitchens in the city. In 2013, it became known that they had been serving up horse steaks for decades - which they still do and are quite a popular choice on the menu besides the beef steaks.
This place has been in operation for three decades now and is known for being the best Uruguayan steakhouse in town. It's located just around the corner from Leidseplein which is the heart of Amsterdam nightlife so eating here is the perfect start to your night. Don't let the exterior deter you - you'll get value for money on the steak and drinks and the atmosphere is what really makes it.
These guys have over a dozen different steaks on their menu ranging from €15 - €30+ and from fillet to 'dutch fat ass'. You can tell they're serious about steak by the sheer size of their steak knives - they're hahuge! By the way eating your meal on your lap is the norm here - they've relaxed couch seating and your food arrives on a tray! Totally different but it certainly keeps the customers coming back for more!
If you're looking for a steak that's cooked to perfection head here. The atmosphere is urban chic and you won't be left disappointed. We have yet to hear a bad word about this place AND they even do picnic baskets that you can take away and enjoy al fresco... Who wouldn't have love for this?
This place is somewhat of an instituton. Not only do Cafe De Klos have a name for serving up the best ribs ever - they also serve up a mean steak. They don't take reservations, so it's first come first served which is great and you'll find it's always packed to the rafters. Another thing that you'll notice is that this place is definitely not a tourist trap - a sign that it is genuinely amazing.

Gauchos have been in operation for more than 40 years and they've several outlets dotted across the Netherlands. They've an extensive menu of Argentinian steaks - ranging from €15-44 and always cooked to perfection. You'll find yourself in classy surroundings enjoying amazing food and top class service.
Toro Dorado has a mix of the right combinations - good wine, great steak and amazing atmosphere. When you walk in, the restaurant has a very welcoming, modern feel to it. And the best thing? Best known for their chilli steaks (which is a must when you come here), Loetje has a reputation for serving up the best cuts. Come here and order just the steak and a nice glass of red, no fancy stuff. Great place, relaxed vibe, super service. What more could you ask for?
