Gardaí in Cork are on the lookout for an arsonist who attempted to set fire to the Tria Express petrol station in Blarney this morning.
The person was captured on CCTV trying to set a pump alight before running away from the scene. Moments later, Gardaí arrive before one officer puts himself in the line of danger by rushing onto the forecourt to extinguish the flame.

The suspect can be seen wearing white overalls and is believed to have escaped on a bicycle.
Anyone with information or who was in the area between 6.30am and 7.30am is asked to contact Gardaí.
