Add us as a preferred source on Google »A teenage boy has been airlifted to Cork University Hospital after suffering head injuries while out boating this morning.
The Irish Examiner reports that the boy was injured while on a sailing boat in West Cork.
It's believed he may have been struck in the head by a boom.
Valentia Coast Guard organised the Waterford-based rescue services to rescue the boy.
The boy was taken, by helicopter, to Cork Hospital where it landed on a makeshift site at approximately 12.30pm, before arriving at the hospital via ambulance.
It's understood the boy's condition has improved since the initial incident.
