Cork Jazz Festival lineup and new venues announced for 2022

Late night parties, secret gigs, and boat trips are all on the agenda.

Guinness has announced that tickets will go on sale this Friday (26th) at 10am for the 44^th annual Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. Taking place over the October Bank Holiday Weekend from the 27^th – 30^th,   this year's lineup features a mix of exciting Irish and international talent. There'll also be on-street activities, popup events and the general buzz around the city that the festival is known and loved for. Returning 32 years after they performed one the most memorable gigs that Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh has ever witnessed, New Power Generation return to celebrate their mentor Prince and perform something truly special in a tribute to one of the greatest musicians in recording history. Hermeto Pascoal, who Miles Davis once dubbed as ‘one of the most important musicians on the planet’ makes a return to Ireland for the first time in almost 20 years. Winner of the Choice Music Prize Album of the Year for her mixtape ‘Go Bravery’, Denise Chaila is set to perform a special jazz flavoured performance as her final show of the year having headlined festivals across Ireland and the UK this summer. Other festival highlights include the The Jazz Music Trail, which spans over 60 Cork venues and features music for all tastes from ska to swing, jazz to brass and leads you to every corner of the city, and an artist-in-residency performance from Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton, a singular force playing blues, ragtime, jigs to echo the heritage of jazz roots.
